Carers Connect

Homelink are organising Carers sessions on Wednesdays called Carers Connect covering a range of topics, offering information, practical advice and an opportunity for Carers to connect with professionals and other carers. These events are open to all Carers of older people, not just those who attend Homelink.

The first session of the series will be on Wednesday 26th March from 11-2pm. This session is on Dementia and Other Health Conditions. There will be an opportunity to hear specialists speak, ask questions and share information and enjoy a delicious lunch.

Please email jane@homelinkdaycare.co.uk with any dietary requirements and let us know if you are bringing your loved one. The suggested donation is £7:50 per person. You can pay on the day either by cash or card but booking in advance is essential.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or call Homelink on 0208 255 1992.

Remo Grasso runs the London Marathon for Homelink at the age of 75

75-year-old Remo Grasso is currently deep in his training for the London Marathon 2025, held on Sunday April 27th. Donations to his run will go towards supporting our work, as well as two other local charities - Crossroads Care and INS.

Remo is a close friend of Homelink, having been a carer with us in the past. We supported him and his mother, Flora, through the final stages of her Alzheimer's. Remo is currently a volunteer with Homelink.

Can you join us in supporting Remo across the line by giving a donation? Any donation will spur him on throughout his training and support the work that we do!

Light Up Whitton

Thanks to everyone who supported our stall at Light Up Whitton!

It was such a fun community event and, as always, all proceeds from our stall go towards supporting local older people and their unpaid carers.

Homelink Open Day

Thank you to everyone who supported the Homelink open day in June. It was a vibrant success attended by many local people including social workers, commissioners, funders, referrers, partner charities and prospective beneficiaries. We are grateful to the Mayor of Richmond and Sir Vince Cable for supporting and speaking at the event about Homelink’s past, present and future.

The open day was an opportunity for us to showcase the high-quality care and support activities that we offer, including our interactive table, craft, partnership work, volunteering, food and entertainment. The ‘Carers Corner’ was a particular success with visitors hearing first-hand experiences from carers about our Carer Support Service.

DHL Heathrow Volunteering Team

In April, we had the pleasure of hosting a Volunteer Team from DHL Heathrow, their hard work truly made a difference. By the end of the day they had transformed our outdoor spaces, painting fences and pruning shrubs in preparation for the summer ahead. The impact of their work will be enjoyed by our clients in the months ahead.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the team for their generosity, time, and effort. Your kindness has left a lasting impression on us, and we are truly grateful for your support.

Thank you for making our garden shine brighter than ever before!
